Wave Bye-bye To Single Use Plastic: Make Your Own Beeswax Wraps

Wave Bye-bye To Single Use Plastic: Make Your Own Beeswax Wraps
Did you know: even though Cling Film is a Type 3 pastic, it cannot be recycled?

Often it's too dirty with food, and likely to jam recycling machines due to its malleable properties.

So why not kill two birds with one stone: use up your scrap backlog, and save the earth!

Time Taken

    15 minutes

Items Needed

  1. Beeswax
  2. Fabric Scraps
  3. Iron
  4. Ironing Board/Towel
  5. Greaseproof Paper

Method

  1. Cut fabric to your desired size (We recommend a fat quarter)
  2. Either overlock, or use zig zag scissors to stop the edges fraying
  3. Place fabric on top of greaseproof paper on your ironing board/towel
  4. Grate beeswax onto the fabric
  5. Cover with greaseproof paper
  6. Iron, spreading the beeswax evenly to coat the fabric
  7. Enjoy your plastic-free life!
